Moving Day(s)

We are super brilliant people so we decided to move ourselves across country. Our military friends just laugh and laugh because they know that most sane military folk let the contracted moving company do all the heavy lifting. Well, we signed up for what is called a partial "Do It Yourself" move. The only "partial" part about it is that we had movers come and take about 85% of our worldly possessions and move them all to long term storage (at least two years in our case). The rest was left to us. So we rented a U-haul and got to packing. We were quite concerned that our stuff wasn't going to fit in the 12x6 trailer but miracle of miracles it all fit. Packing the trailer took all day as it was a puzzle to piece together. Then we drove 2800 miles across country and unpacked it all in Monterey. That was the worst part. I think this is our first and last "Do It Yourself" move :) The following pictures are of our moving adventure and some pictures of our first home in Yulee (we still own the home but are renting it with the help of a property manager).

There was a bunch of stuff to move, including a king size mattress.

Our garage doubling as a loading dock.

The first piece of the puzzle.

Eight hours later, Jake is shoving in final pieces. Yes, that is sweat :)

Our full-to-the-brim trailer. Amazing.

Our home in Yulee. It was perfect and I miss it.

Backyard view. Chloe & Carly miss their backyard.
