Ike's Place Post

Just a quick trip to San Fran to pick up Jake's brother and we thought we'd try out a Man v. Food spot - Ike's Place. It is in the middle of a district known as the mission, which is quite colorful. It took a bit of searching to find a parking place and then another argument of which way to turn the wheels since we parked on a notorious San Fran hill (for the record, we all got it wrong).

While we roamed for a parking space my eyes roamed over a man wearing just a cowboy hat. I had no idea that this is par for the course for this city, another lesser known San Francisco treat?

Anyhow, we finally found ourselves at Ike's and it is a tiny city delight. We waited over an hour but it was pleasant in the breezy north Cal air. This spot specializes in high quality sandwiches made to order, with over 100 on the menu! But don't worry, there is plenty of time to decide.

WAS IT WORTH IT? our consensus is that YES it is worth the one time experience but if you don't have the time to wait, definitely call ahead (or skip it altogether. sorry IKE!)
